150 words on Voice for Streetcar
Voice plays a large role in the interpretation
and characterization of a role. Thereby I decided that after choosing my
monologue from Stanley I decided to play around with my voice almost as a trial
and error situation, using different accents, adjusting my pitch, volume and
clarity of each word to see what best fit my interpretation of Stanley's
Character this consequently meant that I was able to come to a
decision that used all aspects of my voice to its highest potential. After
doing this exercise I was able to work more on other aspects to gain
the perfect representation of my character meaning my performance was not
only correct and true but was interesting and had a different approach than
others interpretations. Once I had my voice I had realised that pace seemed to
be an issue therefore I repeated my monologue each time changing the pace of
the monologue as a whole and individual lines that used pace as a form of
emphasis.
